West Kent has a wide range of secondary education provision. There are 17 maintained secondary schools with sixth forms (including 7 Grammar Schools), four special schools and a number of Independent Schools (e.g. Benenden, Bethany, Kent College Pembury, Sevenoaks, Tonbridge).
Educational attainment in West Kent schools is generally high and a high proportion of school leavers pursue higher education. Only one in twelve young people in West Kent enters employment immediately on leaving school.
The main campus of West Kent College is in Tonbridge, it provides a wide range of opportunities from 14-16 years through Further and Higher Education (with University of Greenwich and University of Kent), as well as for businesses and adults. It is a Centre of Vocational Excellence in Health and Care.
Hadlow is one of the country's top 3 land-based colleges for success and achievement, providing FE, HE (with University of Greenwich) and other courses.
Canterbury Christ Church University also has a campus in Tunbridge Wells.
