About West Kent
West Kent has a thriving business culture and is a competitive place to do business, yet comprises beautiful countryside (Green Belt and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty) and lies within easy reach of London and continental Europe.
The number of businesses in West Kent’s growing economy has increased by over 1,000 since 2000, and the area has seen particularly strong growth in the business services sector.
Tunbridge Wells and Sevenoaks have been highlighted amongst the most competitive District locations for businesses in Kent . Tunbridge and Malling, with the attractive Kings Hill development, has seen the largest growth in new business operations with a 13% increase in business stock since 2000.

Overview
West Kent comprises the three district council areas of Sevenoaks, Tonbridge and Malling and Tunbridge Wells. It is bordered by Dartford, Gravesham and Ashford authorities in Kent as well as Medway, East Sussex, Surrey and the London Boroughs of Bromley and Bexley.
There are three main urban settlements: Sevenoaks, Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells, together with Swanley, Paddock Wood, Cranbrook and a number of villages within beautiful countryside.
West Kent has good access to London by rail and to the motorway network.
The area is characterised by a high quality environment with much of West Kent comprising Metropolitan Green Belt or designated as Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Whilst generally an affluent area, West Kent does have pockets of deprivation.
